About the Author

John Rusty T. Pereña is a 4th year student taking BS Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in General Science in Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology. In 2011, he graduated at Aliaga Ecumenical School. Then, in 2015, he graduated from High School at Aliaga National High School.

Rusty is an orgy student. Since he was in first year college, he was already part of the Teacher Education Student Council (TESC) in their department and became the OIC Chairman when he was in third year. He also became a student adviser of a non-political student organization named Yeshua’s Evangelical Society (YES) in their college. And also a member of the university’s cultural dance group named NEUST Folkloric Dance Troupe.

Moreover, Rusty also excels in his academics. He became a DOST Scholar when he was in third year. In 2018, he joined the ASEAN Data Science Explorers Competition. This is data analytics competition that aims to enhance awareness and appreciation of the ASEAN community among young people through digital literacy intervention. Together with his teammate, Jade Hizon, they hailed as the National Champion and bagged the 2nd place as they represent the Philippines during the Regional Finals.

Lastly, Rusty is known as a person with a sense of humor and easily to be approached by others. He has a lot of friend and most likely to be identified as the joker among his friends.
