Every time before I start the discussion, I always remind my students about the basic rules inside the class room like if they want to ask or say something, they must first raise their hand and when I permit them they will stand and state their name and start to ask or say something. This is to avoid the students to speak in chorus. But based on my observation, they are more comfortable when they just sit while asking or saying something.
